Here my horse and I rest by one of the small rivers running through our estancia lands. Behind is an extremely dense thicket of brush and trees that is very difficult to get through even on foot. This is a favourite hiding place for the wild boars, or chanchos, that roam the countryside for sheep at night.

If you didn't have a corral to do the branding, etc., you did it the old way: lassoing and pinning the cattle. We travelled about 20 km up the road to another estancia to lend them a hand.

After a day of correlling and branding, sitting down with a mate is a fantastic way to relax and unwind.
