When did I ever see anyone else??? Not often. Once a week neighbours, once a month a travelling cornerstore on wheels (a truck) would come by, and twice we went into the nearest village (population about 2000 people) about 30 km away.

On this occasion we went in for the 'ramate', or auction. Here gauchos from across the region gathered to buy and sell cattle, sheep and all other livestock.
